History of Tucker School 1861
New location is at the corner of Monon Road and CR 300 W
| Tucker School aka Smithson School; was located in the
southeast quarter of Township Section 10 at the southwest corner of CR
100E and Smithson road in White County, Indiana.
Mrs. Sallie Stine was the teacher in 1879. In a picture that was taken in front of the school in 1909 Maude Beasy was the teacher. Some of the surnames of the students were: Hintzman, Fastnow, Ward, Bardonner, Schroeder and Bossung. A few other teachers were: Wilma Verrill (1915 - 1916), Myrtle Warne (1917-1918) and Opal Matthews (1918- 1920). Helen Carr-Baer remembered Maude Beasy as her favorite teacher.
